Winter is officially here and the elements are serious!  It may be cold and dry outside but your skin and hair should still be soft and supple.  You don’t need to spend a bunch of money on spa treatments this winter to keep your skin and hair glowing, just try some of this simple at home recipes.

Coco-Brown Sugar Glistening Body Scrub

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup turbinado sugar
  • Mix thoroughly with spoon or hand mixer. It will have a gritty texture.  Rob into body in shower, after washing and rinse off with warm water. Pat dry and enjoy your delectable skin. Such a yummy treat :)

Coconut Milk Hair Rinse

  • Fresh or can of coconut milk
  • Pour onto hair after shampooing, cover with shower cap and let rest for 5-10 minutes.  Rinse with lukewarm water and enjoy the sheen and sexy hair!

Oatmeal Face Mask

  • 3/4 cup dry oats
  • 1/3 cup water
  • Mix ingredients to form a paste. Spread on face and allow to dry a little, until paste hardens. Rinse with lukewarm water and follow with toner and moisturizer.  Kissable skin! Muah!

Olive-Avocado Facial Mask (ideal for Dry Skin)

  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Mix ingredients well until lumps disappear.  Spread on face and allow to rest for 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. Pat dry and follow with toner and light moisturizer.  If skin is too oily, after initial rinse, rinse again or use warmer water to help get rid of excess oils.  Ready for the elements!
